“Besides Tamim, the rest of the election aspirants have been approved to vie for the various posts on April 30,” so says Attai.

During the December 31 elections, Tamim was blocked by a successful petition lodged by another presidential election aspirant Suleiman Mahmoud Jabir.

Tamim’s Form Four transcripts are believed to have been stolen to leave him empty handed.

However, this time Tamim has secured a go ahead from the Ministry of Education which has certified him as Form Four leaver though he lacks the transcripts to exhibit his academic achievement.

The ZFA president was disqualified during the December 31 elections also held in Pemba on the grounds, among others, of failing to submit Form Four educational transcripts.

ZFA assistant secretary general Masoudi Attai said Tamim has passed the electoral committee’s scrutiny held last week and would vie for the re-election without an opponent.

Incumbent Zanzibar Football Association’s president Ali Ferej Tamim has been approved to seek re-election of the post in the pools set for April 30 in Pemba.
